There’s been a lot in the news recently about Round Rock ISD and their school board members. Everything from parents being arrested and thrown in jail to a Superintendent involved in a domestic violence incident. I recently had the good fortune to connect with a concerned parent in the Round Rock ISD. That parent is on Mr. Orlando Salinas. Originally from Brownsville, TX, Orlando moved to Round Rock area in 2009 where he has been an active member in the community as the choir director for the youth choir at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church since 2014. Orlando has worked for the state of Texas for over seven years, and has authored and instructed leadership development training for the state. Orlando currently works for the Texas Ranger Division at the Texas Department of Public Safety where he oversees one of the department’s Sexual Assault Kit Initiative (SAKI) grants awarded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance. Orlando’s family instilled in him a drive for education at a young age as they affirmed a good education was something that could never be taken away. Orlando holds a Master in Business Administration degree and a Master in Health Administration degree. Orlando is motivated to serve as a trustee in RRISD to advocate and support a quality education for all RRISD students.
